Good hotel with no complaints on our stay here. Room was clean, spacious and awesome, giving us a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was decent with nice varieties. Staff were polite and helps us all the way it was possible. Bathroom was not that much maintained. Front desk was very well helpful in nice check in and check out. Lovely hotel in the city.

It's close to the Golden Temple, the staff was helpful, laundry came back on time. The room was decent, the shower head was kind of stuck but the water hot. The lift was helpful, and wifi, too. Cleaner than the dump I stayed in upon arrival.
  • Budget hotel in Amritsar

Hotel been located few steps away from the Golden Temple. Having 24hour power backup with lift. small rooms with too small bathroom which is one of the negative point. No stand or place to keep shaving kit also. Bathrooms are too small that one cant even change clothes. Budget hotel with bit high prices. Main advantage is Golden temple and jaliaanwala bagh is just foot step away. Hotel been located at main market all restaurant are just nearby. Overall atmosphere inside hotel is average.

We are an elderly couple and this was our first trip to Amritsar in March 2016. I short listed some budget hotel close to Harminder Saheb and Royal inn was one of them. I contacted the hotel by phone and was quite impressed with their professionalism and courtesy. So decided to check this property first and felt no need to check other hotels. Plus points: 1. Newly renovated 2.Nice room with a widow opening in balcony for ventilation. Did not use AC as it was not needed in the month of March. 3.Power backup. 4. Has a lift. 5. Few mnts walk to Harminder Saheb. 6.Inexpensive 7.Close to Jalianwalla bagh and Brothers dhaba 8.Helpful staff. 9. Felt secured 10. Has a mini fridge & a smallflat screen TV. Minus points: 1. Very small size room & bathroom but one should not complain for the price we paid for the room. 2. Electrical point were not working for phone charger. It could not be fixed during our 3-nights stay.

Basically we were robbed here. This is what happened: My friend and I are checking in and the receptionist asks for payment. We're staying one night, it's 1200 Rs a night, so I hand him 1500 Rs. We proceed with the check-in process (he scans our passports, I fill in our info, etc.). After all this the guy writes on the page that its a 1000 Rs deposit. I ask for my change. He says I only gave him 1000 Rs b/c that's what written there, what he literally just wrote. I tell him I didn't or maybe it was a mistake. He plays dumb, goes on to yell at me and calls me a liar. We were too exhausted to argue with him about it b/c we had been traveling all day so we let it go so we could rest and leave for the border ceremony. After that experience, we did not feel at all comfortable leaving anything valuable in the room so we took it all with us. I mentioned it again at check out (when he asked for another 200 Rs) and he started yelling at me again. We just paid and left while he was screaming, happy to be done with this awful experience. When it comes down to it, I don't care about the 500 Rs. I just don't want anyone else to get burned. There's a great place right next to it called Hotel Oyo that's nicer anyways, stay there.
