Hotel BJ's By The Way

I visited this property in may 2017 and then again in Oct 2017, the room service was again excellent as before but the thing which I complained about in my last review ie Room Service was improved exceptionally well. The guys at restaurant love to serve breakfast as per the customer's choice. Even though its a buffet breakfast at By The Way, You will be served everything on your table or in your room as per your choice. The room service has also improved and now the water or any other thing is just a call away. I always love the mini fridge provided here and keep all the eatables and water bottles without any fear of getting them wasted. Overall a very good and better experience again. This time you owe 5 stars from me. Would love to come again and again.

Excellent stay.Rooms are very beautiful, spacious(approx. 260 sq. ft area) well furnished with free wi-fi LCD wall mounted TV .Situated just adjacent to Bharti House(Airtel office).Service excellent. Food excellent at a very nominal cost.The bar is also good.But smoking not permitted inside rooms.But one can smoke in the attached balconies or roof top.hardly a kilolmetre away from the city yet so quiet and cozy. You will definitely love to stay here.It is very near to KIIT University.You can get autos from the hotel by requesting at the reception.Uber cabs are freely available.

Been here for a discussion meeting, we had veg and non-veg starters and it was very good. We had taken the catering service for my Marriage, and the food preparation was excellent, All the guests were just saying food is fantastic.

We stayed in the hotel to attend the wedding of a friend's son. This was our first visit to Orissa and we were very impressed with the neat clean city. The traffic was also much less and more organized than what one generally expects in India. The hotel is situated a bit outside the city but that makes the hotel peacefull and quiet. Since Bhubeneshwar is a small city, the localtion is not a problem. We did not partake of the standard meals at the hotel since our food was part of the wedding package, albeit prepared by the same hotel. The non-vegetarian fare was good, but the vegetarian food was ordinary. The rooms were spacious and clean, but there was some noise constantly coming from the kitchen area, either of some generator or some exhausts. This noise was coming in all the rooms, and at all times. We went and complained at the reception, but they were neither able to explain the noise, nor reduce the same. The service was almost non existant. The telephone in our room was not working and we had to go down to the reception for every request. After a while, we decided that self service was best, and would get water from the water jug by ourselves. I even got extra towels and soaps directly from the housekeeping room which was unattended at all times!! The reception area was done up nicely, and we took quite a few photographs from the main entrance area.

Did not comply with the pics shown on the portal. Room was stinky. Repeated request to change the room fell on deaf ears. Additionally the room had sufficient mosquitoes to keep you awake whole night. They should stop giving the so called Complementary BF. Nothing to choose in BF. Only two options Idly and paratha with tastless Sambar and sabji. Even the same was not available in sufficient quantity. The only thing to appriciate about the hotel was surrounding of the hotel which was calm and quite, ( by the vitue of being away from main city). Needless to say the credit goes to the location and not to the management of the hotel.
