Magnolia Estates & Resorts

We are a family of four with 2 young. We were really looking forward to this having been confined indoors for a long time by Covid. And the resort or the team did not let us down. Below are some things that stood out for us: - Very warm team. Everyone, from Praveen the manager, to the restaurant team ( the waiters and the Chef), the housekeeping team, Puneet, the clubhouse in charge, went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. Puneet, who led the plantation walk for us was very knowledgeable, thoughtful - Fantastic location and views Driving from Blr, this resort is probably closest as compared to its peers. And the views are just stunning. The beauty &serenity it offers as compared to daily city life is something that will stay with us. - Great facilities The cottages are well-appointed and well-maintained. The club house has great facilities and its collection of books is not something that you would see in every resort. Some things to watch out for: Leeches - Given the resort's fantastic location, this is fair game and something to be expected. A suggestion to the management would be to advise people to carry shoes with them ( as part of welcome mail or website). Food at the restaurant does take some time which is understandable., but something the management team could look at improving. Overall, Magnolia is a place that we would highly recommend and something that we would definitely visit again.

Never taught I will have such as beautiful vacation after this pandemic at one of the most prime location with such a grand hotel with wonderful quality of service and helping nature staff many place to visit in nearby. The room was fully furnished well equipped with all needful technology.

Magnolia estate is located near Kerela border, towards the end of Coorg (if you are not coming from Kerela ;-)). Its well maintained coffee estate with big rooms/cottages, restaurant and lakes. Before I give further feedback I want to highlight the few fine prints I missed while booking assuming the bar facility and Wi-Fi in rooms will be provided if the resort is charging a premium, but that's not the case. TV also has Tatasky connection but only a few channels work, so if you want to watch TV you would probably have to pay additional charges. So confirm before booking if these things matter to you. We went there as a family of 4, and we overall had mixed experiences. Here is what worked well and later I'll tell you what didn't. What worked well: - Nice clean, serene estate with a lot of natural beauty and with enough social distancing. The walk in the estate and the lake was a real stress buster. - Big rooms so you can spend good time indoors also. Good for a big family with kids. - They arranged a small event for families and kids on new year which was really good and everyone enjoyed it a lot. Thanks a lot! Pravin was very friendly and managed the event well. - Staff was polite and smiling (Though not very skilled or committed I suspect) What didn't work well for us: - Room service was slow, but that's understandable since the estate is big and rooms were spread out, but carelessly messing up order is bad. I had to call up after an hour even though the person who took the order said it would take around 30 mins but when i called up they realized they didn't have my order. They took order again and by the time it was delivered to our room it was 1.5hrs and kids were quite cranky. Carelessness of staff was quite evident. BTW they gave me 2 bills for the same dinner at the checkout time even though it was delivered once, which again showed carelessness of staff. Thankfully they removed the wrong bill when I pointed it to them.  - Next day when we ordered food we kept a time margin and they took more than enough time to deliver the food but when we unpacked the food we realized that cutlery and plates were not given. I had to again call them up and it took another 10 mins to get it and by that time food had cooled down. Again carelessness and lack of attention to details. - Next morning as we started to freshen up, I realized the water was only trickling through taps in the bathroom. I thought they would notice it and fill the tanks if they were emptied overnight but again they didn't do anything until we called them and complained about no water supply. They said it would come in 15 mins but even after 30 mins it did not start, so we had to wash our faces with bottled water and went to breakfast. luckily by the time we came back water was back and we could take a bath before checking out. Again this showed carelessness on their staff. - When we went for breakfast, it was limited but unlike previous days today we found an insect in idli. After our experiences the night before and in the morning, this didn't look much so we just skipped the idli and ate something outside on our bay back after checkout. Overall a good place to stay peacefully if you don't want to be disturbed, but if you are fussy about facilities and service, then it may not be a good choice.

Called them. They days available. Sent me mail with account details. With one line at the bottom. Check with is before you send money. Called them and told them doing t test transaction. After doing it called them to check. The guy Praveen Saudi he will check and get back. Them stopped taking calls and cuts phone. After following up for 1.5 days, sends mark saying no accommodation. Online shows price increase

Very disappointing. The property is beautiful, the location breathtaking. BUT. There’s a big but. The staff and management are not courteous. Room service sucks. They refuse to provide even the basic services to the room and will not serve absolutely anything near the pool! We went for a family vacation and the management did not cooperate at all. We were charged a hefty amount but service was no where near the benchmark. On top of that the property is infested with Leeches! On complaining, the staff says that leeches are good for health! They are everywhere and we could not enjoy our stay at all.
