Hotel Padmini & Restaurant

We group of 5 pax stayed in hotel Padmini, Dharamshala for one night 20/09/2014. For 1 night stay its OK. Small room. Toilet is not up to the standard. Since we bargained a lot and got 4 bedded room for Rs. 850/- and one 2 bedded room for Rs. 450/-. If any one compare the hotel cost wise it was NOT BAD. TV was in the room. Backside veranda from where any one can see the natural view of Dharamshala. Many younger boys of age 16-20 were there to help customers. Towel they provide was dirty. Do not drink normal water supplied by the hotel, rather use packaged water. Hotel supplied drinking water was yellowish in colour. In the morning we requested hotel staff such that we can go to roof top for taking sunrise snap, but unfortunately they denied and ignored our request.

I booked the hotel only for 4 hours after coming from Triund trek to catch my night bus. But within that 4 hours I really felt that it was better to stay at bus stand. No privacy is there. Staffs talk so loudly in the reception, you may feel that you are in fish market. Once heavy vehicle goes through the road, you may feel that earthquake happens. Only the location is good .very close to bus stand. Otherwise go for different option.

Never visit this hotel if you are with family . People can easily jump from their balcony to your balcony. They don't change the bed sheet . It smells so bad. There are rats in room. Height of room is so low you will feel suffocated . There is no ac in room The only reason I booked this room was I had bus early in morning and I thought the only thing I can do is to pass time for just one night is to opt for this hotel . But they did not let me sleep. Guests in other rooms when operate tv , their voices come to your room . Never never never stay in hotel padmini. Worst hotel ever visited in my lifetime.

I went there with friends as we reached quite late after driving a long way to Dharamshala. We had no other option available in our budget so we checked into this property and realized it's just to spend the night as blankets were stinking, room was full of smell. Only view was little good to have some gossip session outside room.

Recently we had the misfortune of staying in this hotel for 2 days.On the face of it the room we were given seemed alright. But only after occupying it, did we start facing problems one after another. We found the toilet soiled and when we asked the cleaner to clean it, the reply he gave was, " aap use karoge, ganda toh hona hi hai" (so where is the need to clean it in the first place) The remote of the tv was not working at all. We had to be behind the manager several times, after which they changed the tv. Morning, we went to have bath, the mug had several holes in it, due to which water was flowing away. There were lots of cockroaches in the room, which was nauseating. Our room was beside the reception. At night, there were 3 employees of the hotel who were sitting at the reception, talking loudly, shouting and laughing till late at nite, due which we could not sleep . Even after requesting them to talk softly, they continued to make merry. To top it all, the day we were to check out, (the check-out time was 12 noon) we requested the manager if we could keep our luggage in the room or if not, in the reception, so that we could go have our lunch and then come back and take our luggage, which would have taken abt half-an-hr only. We have wide travel experience and we know that all hotels are quite accomodating with reg. to such requests. But this manager was extremely rude with us. He told my husband, " aankhein mat dikhao" and asked us to check out immedately. All in all, a very disturbing two days stay at this hotel. It robbed us of our peace and quiet.
