This is the perfect hotel for a weekend. I had a great experience with the staff was incredibly helpful (Aishwarya & Ajay) They all go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable. give your staff awards!

Everyone i came in contact with was friendly and very helpful!...i made a direct booking for my 2 night stay at joia do mar in north goa... everything went well... property is nicely maintained too...I visit often to goa but i found this property is quiet big... thanks for the lovely services team Joia..

It was a disaster that we chose this resort. It was a group booking and the staff was not bothered about us and we waited even to check in for long with kids, with so many families and planning well in advance they had enough time to get us more comfortable. Said that the worst was people are allowed not only to drink alcohol in the pool as the bar is right in the pool, there were people throwing alcohol in the pool were kids were present, all in front of attendants , even smoking and throwing the cigarette in the pool is what i witnessed myself. This is a pool were kids are present. There were stained towel and bed covers and also broken doors.Overall hygiene is extremely poor, we were just waiting to be out of the resort asap.

I have stayed in more basic hotels but never experienced such a shabby upkeep of property. The room we stayed in - supposedly a deluxe room - had many things broken, worn out and in a state of no maintenance. Sample this: The mattress had springs that clearly hurt when you sleep. Door knobs were not working. Passage lights outside room were not working - making the simple task of putting the key in the keyhole difficult. Flush needed long and continuous application for enough water to clean the WC. Room service was equally appalling. When room was prepared and handed over there was no complimentary water, it needed repeated follow-up. Expected a hair dryer in the bathroom, wasn't there. Asked for one, was told some other customer was using it. When reminded was told the hand dryer was not functioning! The pool has a bar next to it. Some guests were leaving their cigarette buts in the water and some even threw their drinks. The hotel staff did nothing to clear it. Staff has no etiquettes - found quite a few of them talk loudly on their mobile phones discussing personal/family matters in front of guests.

Staying in a shack is much much better! RUDE: Starts with the GM of the resort Tarun, who shows limited experience in running a resort or behaving with his guests. His attitude has been very rude. Learning and following him are most of his staff members; (barring a few who were very helpful). The property owner should really look into this. SHOCKING: The place is really decent but it's shocking to see how ill-managed the property is. Fungus-infested molds on the wall, pathetic toilets, stained beds, bed sheets & pillows. No room service after sunset. The swimming pool is not well maintained and is heavily chlorinated. Absolutely not kid-friendly as some drunk guests were pouring liquor in the pool and the staff just kept looking on, in spite of us complaining. PATHETIC: If the rooms are so unhygienic, wonder how the kitchen would be. Our family members had fallen sick with loose motions and were throwing up. The only reason I have given 1 star is, they were VERY EFFICIENT in checking us out from the resort. KUDOS to that!!!
