DON'T. Just DON'T.
You'll see Rococco's pictures on the internet, they'll be flowery and pretty.
You'll read Rococco's reviews on the internet, all full of praises.
You'll book a room at Rococco, it'll be super expensive, and then you'll think "Maybe it's worth it".
Well, IT'S NOT.
We stayed at Rococco (A couple and a dog) at an exorbitant tariff of Rs. 6,800 a night.
The troubles start from when you enter.
It's 'premium' only on paper (and price).
Unlike most 'premium' properties, you HAVE to pay for your entire stay, at the reception, before you check-in to your room. Weird, but okay.
We hauled our own luggage, because 'We didn't ask anyone to get it from the car'. Must've been my fault.
The room was puny, with torn rugs, a torn blanket, poorly sewed up in the corner to hide the damage (wow, so premium, right?), had a small balcony which faces the sea (yay!)
We had driven for 12 hours, so we decided to take a nap. In the Goa heat (and the 'premium' charge), ACs are basic. Well, we had an AC (no fan) in the room, but it doesn't work in the daytime because of 'load shedding issues'. While they do have a solution to that, a backup generator, it is switched on for 10-15 min, only when someone complains and then, back to square one.
Although it is 'premium', you get only a low grade soap, non-branded shampoo and conditioner in the room.
The dental kit, although from a 'premium' property is to be paid for.
And body lotion, well, no.
Now, the night time.
We came back from exploring around (we headed out because the AC wasn't working), we open the balcony and voila! There's a bunch of men sitting right under, playing loud music and eye balling women.
When we contacted the staff, we were told that it's public space and nothing can be done till 11 PM. LOL
The Premium Breakfast Buffet: It's the same food every single day. Bananas, Watermelon, Eggs, Poori, Chana, Bread, Butter and Omelette.
They made (sad) pancakes that looked like 'cheelas', one day, but after one serving, they removed it. lol
The Housekeeping was super lethargic, so much so, that they even forgot to dust the mats or even clean the used cutlery/crockery in the room. Maybe that's how it is done at 'PREMIUM' properties.
We had food (apart from the buffet) only once at the property, I'd say it was nice. Wouldn't take it away from them. Hope they had the same team do the breakfast as well, would've given a break from the monotony, that is their breakfast.
Our check-out involved a guy asking my wife and me, thrice "Have you returned the keys?". The same guy saw my wife and me hauling our luggage to the car, but didn't give a flying fox. When I later pointed it out, he said the same thing as he did when we checked in: "You never asked".
Well, I would not recommend anyone to waste their money and spoil their mood by staying at Rococco. There're others who do it much better, at much cheaper prices. Spend the money you save on good food, water sports and many other things that Goa has to happen.
Once again, DON'T, just, DON'T.
