Casa Britona

For a recent celebration, we hired out Casa Britona for a family & friends party. Wanting to impress them, this property is perfect. Our guests got the wow effect as soon as they enter.. A great river view, stylishly furnished heritage villa, with good service from staff - Risha & her Team and the management throughout. The food was perfect for our event. Well done Team Britona.

What a super day out with friends at Casa Britona Words cannot express what a wonderful time we had .. The whole afternoon/eve was so well planned in this classy Casa Britona The ambiance, delectable food and all the arrangements were top class.The service and lunch was par excellence...Delicious lunch prepared by the chef who was so obliging.Its a MUST STAY place with cool comfortable luxurious rooms.

The villas is absolutely beautiful - however it is close to the river (the reason we chose it) and not close to the beaches. We started of with a good note when the taxi driver who dropped us of approved the place saying this was "Genuine Portuguese and not the trash you get in Baga and Calangute". However, the entrance itself is low key door on a village road and not too impressive but wait till you enter.(Note : Location on google maps is accurate, search for Casa Britona) There are two large bedrooms on the first floor and a third smaller one. The first floor has 3 more bedrooms of which 2 have en suite bathrooms. The room which does not is the one with a loft with a double bed. Our group used only the outside balcony for accessing the two rooms on the right and as such, this room also had a private bathroom. The rooms are furnished with charming antique furniture and really gives a sense of the lifetstyle of a bygone era. There are two lounges/drawing rooms on each floor apart from the extensive balconies with plenty of seating to read a book or smoke a leisurely cigar. The pool had absolutely sparkling water and our group enjoyed several hours in the pool. There is an outdoor deck from which you can do fishing - one member of our party had a very successful morning. The staff will arrange the rod for you. We booked through Airbnb but the standard is really that of a hotel. The chef is talented and we enjoyed some very good Goan cuisine. We thank the supervisor Sameha, cook Shanta and the servers Ramanuj and Jeetendra for the excellent service. A masseuse is available on call - you need to book the previous day. The staff is able to book cabs for travelling at short notice. Conclusion : For a group of family/friends this would be perfect. On one of the more successful nights - we finished after 4 am after a late night session of the game mafia in the poolside pergola.

This location is pretty good. Whereby during the day you get a great view of the river which is adjacent to the property (both a blessing and a curse). The curse (not really anything related to the place directly) is that you will experience a wide array of different bugs if you decide to relax outside during the night time. It is a bit hard to find as the google location also doesn't list it correctly. The food here was a little pricey so you're better off bringing/eating food outside, as this was even suggested by the staff. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Ensuring that all of our needs were taken care of. The decor here was extremely rustic and had a very old style European.
