ama Stays & Trails La Maison Fontainhas , Goa

This building is the standout structure in the tourist area of Fontainhas. The dark green color of the building truly makes it look apart from the many other structures in the area from the Portuguese era. As for the accommodation, the rooms are comfortable. You find tourists handing around outside the building for photographs. Unfortunately, there are a few ignorant ones who don't respect the effort made to keep the buildings clean and preserve it's aesthetic appeal. They lean on the building walls with their legs which you can't do to a private property and that's why there is a "no photo" notice put up. However, if you can respect the cleanliness, well and good. Dominic, Terrence, Arun and Fernandes are a group of really great people who manage the property very well and are responsive to any requests and queries. Got good WiFi too. Breakfast is very limited, though. Rooms are with cozy beds, clean and comfortable. Amazing maintenance.

* Very good experience. * Rooms are clean, good housekeeping. However, the room we stayed had no glass partition or shower curtain between the shower stall and toilet, resulting water flowing all over the washroom floor! * Centrally located with easy access to tourist spots, perfect for mid-budget tourists. * Very polite staff. Service oriented. However, staff need help with English and table service from owner/management. Breakfast service found slow.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our time in this hotel. We were given a warm welcome and shown to a really beautiful room. Bed was big and very comfortable; lovely bathroom too. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfasts here, which were variable and of good quality. I personally was a little concerned at the hours worked by some of the staff - we seen the same people morning, noon and night each day of our stay. When we came back to the hotel in the evenings, the same staff let us back in and were there first thing in the morning to serve us breakfast. Please give these guys a break, La Maison...

We are portuguese and we expected a better that what we get. We stayed for 3 nights and our room was never cleaned. They justified because there is only one key that we took everyday with us. An hotel with just one key for room???!!!???Samples of shampooing and bath gel used from other guest that they fulled with water. Just one sample for the 3 days for 2 people. They have charged a botle of water from breakfast without telling us that ir was chargable. Staff polite but always with escuses. Just the location is good but choose one of other hotels and guest houses arround. Bad experience.

Super small and really expensive. Sometimes, you can only get one of those, but we got both of those. This is probably the worst Taj-owned property that I have stayed at. Given that our flight was cancelled, we decided to spend a night at this gorgeous property and believe me, it is gorgeous only from outside. Things go downhill pretty soon. The rooms are tiny with no walking space. I was on an office call when they decided to turn off the electricity and cut off the internet, without any prior notice. The hot water is intermittent - either scalding hot or uncomfortably cold. The restaurant is non-operational and the breakfast was a joke. Parking is unavailable so you have to find a spot for yourself, with little help from the hotel staff. The hotel is understaffed, which is understandable because of the pandemic, but it was the callous service that really put me off. When you pay Rs.6000 for a room, there are some basic amenities that one expects. The staff were ready with an excuse, rather than a solution. Sadly, as seen in some of the previous reviews, the owner would rather diss a genuine reviewer, than to really work on the feedback, all signs of disastrous and snooty management. Our only saving grace of the stay was Mr Dominic Rosario. He was professional and well-spoken, but all in vain. I write this review in anticipation of things turning around for the better. I have always loved Fountainhas and would love to be back when the service and the staff improves.
