Shelsta Holiday Resort

we stayed for two weeks in December hotel clean, staff excellent, anything they can help you with they will. the hotel is on the main baga road near to all bars and restaurants with access to the beach a short walk away will be booking again for December 2019

Very boutique like hotel with nice and average size pool just opposite Baga deck who serve till 4 at morning and delicious food, their breakfast menu is ok and repetitive, go for the rooms with the pool view then it's worth it and beds are superbly comfy, rooms were lil small but a couple can manage.

Good things first. The location is perfect. Right on the main road and a short walk to the beach and to Tito's lane. The rooms are quaint and cosy. Not so good - the not-so-much of a pool which faces the road. Now the bad. The property is short staffed which reflects in the service provided. If it is season time, be prepare for long check-in wait time, or room service. The in-room amenities are very basic. There is no in-house restaurant. My thoughts - Go only if you get a good deal, else there are plenty of good options nearby.

I regret I cannot give Hotel Shelsta 5 stars, this the first time I have to be negative and don’t like having to do it, but if I don’t all my other reviews can’t be trusted. The negative. The noise was almost to much for me, and it was not the busy Baga road I knew about that, and as it is not a through road eventually it is not a problem at night. It was not Da Baga Deck I was at the end of the season so again I knew about it and no problem. The problem was Pizza Hut they have there generator, air conditioning, and extraction plant right next to the pool, and when the mains drops out which it seemed to nearly all the time all this turns on. If you want a relaxing poolside hotel this is NOT for you. Now for my good points. I really liked the Hotel Shelsta, I got a fantastic room rate as I was there the 4 nights before they closed for the season. I went for the cheap fan rooms at the back, they are the older rooms but because of their location you do not hear any noise at all, the room was large and for budget accommodation I was very happy. Again it was the staff who made the hotel great, they were nearly all young but so professional. The breakfast was very limited but served with style which I liked. I love pools and although small it looked clean to me. Yes the pool and bar are almost on the road but so what. This hotel would suit most people who go to Goa year in year out. All you have to do is cross the road and a gentle 10 minute stroll and you are on the beach, and just pick your beach shack and life is great. I meet a lovely middle age couple from Hull who travel the world like I do, and have been to Goa many times and they will be going back, they like most people, were not in the hotel during the day, and there a/c poolside room was very good. The hotel bar was very good and busy especially if football was on. Photo 3 is Pizza Hut which I would blow up, but I would not be surprise to hear that the hotel owners sold them that plot of land as there staff walk by the edge of the pool not good. So now you must choose, I would go back at the right price.

Usually dont write much reviews but this time actually thought to pen down my experience with Lillywood shelsta. Had been staying in this property from last 15 years when this prorperty was run by pervious owner and was always the first choice to book in goa. Got to know now its been taken over by Lillywoods group and had to book with them now. Connected with the booking center over phone and they offered me a Premier suite which was bit costly for the place like shelsta but then hoping it's been taken by a bigger group would be worth it and went ahead with the booking. On reaching the property made the full payment but on entering the room had a shock of my life. It was no way a permier suite which i was describd and charged for. Attached pics of the room for reference pls have a look and let us know your thoughts on this. It was a very avearage old room only and small in size like a regular room. Called booking centre and they said we call this  room only as our premier suite and its same as our deluxe room only. The TV in the tv cabinet was hung upside down as just for fomrality have put in the tv -attached pic of that also. Housekeeping guy took 10 mins to switch on the AC and could not figure it himself if it was working as expected or not. An old split AC was put up in the room and in the balcony an another old ac unit was keep which failed to understand why its still kept so - attached pics for the same again.  Complained multiple times to housekeeping/reception that AC is not working and they said it's like this only will take time to cool. Meantime called booking centre and propery reception and requested them for refund as was not at all satisifed with the room and the amount being charged for that. Reception lady was very rude  and said it is what is we can not do anything. Booking centre person spoke for a day that they can try to shift us in other property in siolim but then that was  not our preferred location to say we declined.From next day she also stopped taking my calls and we were left with no option but to stay in that room only. Kept complaining them for 2 days that the mini fridge is not working and after 3 days they changed the fridge but was still facing issue with AC cooling.  Would leave it for other people to decide on the stay in this property in future but thought should pen down my horrible experience with this property.We moved out of this property after 5 days of initial booking as no other option BUT would never book in future. The only good thing is location.
