This Hotel is located just in the Heart of Kolkata at the intersection of Park Street with JL Nehru Road which makes it a preferred stay option if you are on a short visit for sightseeing. Indian Museum is just a 5 minutes’ walk from here and its 10 minutes for Birla Planetarium/St Paul Cathedral and 15 for Victoria Memorial. It’s very convenient to get taxis for Airport and Railway Stations while the Metro Rail Station is just outside the hotel gate. It also gives you opportunity to take a stroll on the Park Street in the evening and access any of the fabulous pubs/restaurants there. The food served in the hotel is of okay quality and the rooms are clean, although they are small. The staff is very well trained and knowledgeable

We were there for the first time in August 2018 (one night stay) on way to Kashmir. The hotel is comparatively clean, foods offered through room service as they do not have any restaurant. The service and reception people are cooperative as well

We arrived in Kolkata and this was our second time in India so we are fully aware that the standards are generally not what you would expect in say Europe / Australia. However, when we walked into the hotel instead of being greeted we were abruptly told that our room was not available. My partner politely interjected we would be more than happy to take another room - the owner shouted ‘Listen’ at us and continued talking. A nice welcome.. We were then escorted to our room, that was in the back of the hotel. Room was dingy and dark, not particularly clean. Dirty sheets sitting outside and the towels in the room were filthy. Having paid $50AUD (around £25) for this hotel we weren’t particularly pleased but having been on a flight we accepted. We left the room after about 5 minutes having dropped our bags off and headed out to get some food and our permits sorted for Sikkim (next destination). We ended up out for the whole day as we had several delays. When we returned we laid on the bed and I FaceTimed my parents. It was at this point we noticed there were bed bugs INFESTED all over the bed (pictures attached). I would like to make a note that I suffer from severe allergies and have been in anaphylactic shock more times than I care to count (not from bed bugs) - but I know I have severe swelling from mosquito bites that often require steroids. It was at this point I stated to my partner I would like to change hotels. My partner went to speak to the manager who advised he would (in his own words) ‘send the boy up’. Along came a polite, shy member of staff who agreed the bed bugs were not acceptable. He offered to move rooms which we politely declined - explaining my allergies and showing my Epipen. He then got the manager who accompanied by 5 MEN forced there way into our room and shouted at my partner telling him to ‘SIT DOWN AND LISTEN’, demanding we move rooms and stay. Again, we tried to explain the situation. I would like to note at this point I am a petite blonde 23 year old - it’s very threatening in a country like Indian where violence against women is commonplace for 5 men to be in a small room that barely fits 2. We tried to leave the manager blocked the door forcing us to pay for one night - considering we had been in the room around 25 minutes over a 12 hour period, had not even got INTO the bed bug infested bed and not even showered I would say that is a joke. In any civilised hotel they would be APOLOGISING for their infestation of bed bugs. We were essentially coerced into paying for a room through threatening and demanding behaviour from these disgusting men. We have managed to get a refund through booking.com. I would seriously recommend NOT STAYING IN THIS HOTEL because it is DANGEROUS!! And disgusting and filthy and horrible scary men run it.
