Shangri-La Eros, New Delhi

I stayed here for 1 night recently with my mother and brother; the hotel was certainly impressive and has a great range of space and choices of restaurants. The room was excellent too. I in particular love the buzz of the lobby area and the prettiness of it. For dinner when arrived, we ate in the Shang Palace restaurant- I liked the lamb chop and pork belly, but wasn't too impressed with mains (could be we didn't order the 'right' dishes). For lunch the next day we spent the entire afternoon in Grappa, the bar while I was 'working from home', we enjoyed some excellent cocktails and also had lunch from Sorrento. The management were very accommodating, and I really appreciated that they let us use the Sorrento menu in the bar area- thank you. The combination of bar vibes (the music was great), and the food from Sorrento made it a truly perfect afternoon for us all. We then had a late afternoon tea in Mister Chai- the tea was great, but I wasn't too keen on the samosas, as they weren't very traditional (they had cashews and raisins in them)- not to my liking. The ambience was great though, and the ladies' and their customer service was excellent. One more thing I really appreciated is that the concierge/ door men really looked out for my mother and me- our safety. We wanted to go to Connaught Place, and he helped us get a driver who took us there, stayed there while we shopped, and then brought us back- this was excellent service and very much appreciated. If I return to Delhi, I will definitely stay here again- it has everything you need: great location; excellent customer service; wonderful rooms etc. My only advice would be is have patience. E.g.: when it came to breakfast, we had to queue. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's probably just something we're not so used to in this current world of wanting everything instantly!

It is always great to visit Shangri-La. It is a second home for Aditya and I. Everything is so perfect here. At Mister Chai tea, coffee and food. all just yumm! Special thanks to Anjali for maintaining Such high standards of hospitality! Great service!

We stayed at Shangri-La on our anniversary and it was a comfortable stay overall. The room was quite good and very hygienic. We enjoyed the food and ambience, along with decent service by the staff. The location was also central which made our transit very convenient. The check-in and check-out also went smooth and we liked the hospitality, specially of the guards and the valet, not to forget the housekeeping staff also. What made our stay special was the kind gesture of sending a cake for us at 12 in the night for our anniversary, which was also delicious. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

This is a beautiful and very clean hotel. The facilities and location was excellent. The only BIG negative was the service, it was appalling in all areas except poolside and spa. The check in experience was awful , very rushed and very forceful. The breakfast service slow and invisible with confusion on who is doing what. The only hotel in 20 years of travelling in India where you had to que to get in for breakfast. The bar service was dire, food was slow in arriving and arrived piecemeal and on one occasion never arrived. Serving of drinks total confusion when it came to pay the bill even though we were a party of 6 in 3 separate rooms and advised what drinks need to be charged to what room. When we complained the level of service became very slow or non existent. Even when we checked out total confusion on what room was being charged to what person and incorrect room charges. You pay top money to stay here and consequently you expect a higher level of service and professionalism. The hotel and facilities is of a high standard but the service in many areas is totally insufficient. Would I stay here again NO unless major improvement in service.

After many years and countless trips to Delhi, I finally decided to give this property a go. What I didn't like: -- No complimentary room upgrade for Golden Circle Jade members. Only chargeable, apparently. Even though the receptionist advised there were plenty of next level up rooms available. I mean, WTH?? -- Horizon Deluxe rooms don't have bathtub. Rooms also small compared to club rooms at other 5 star luxury properties in Delhi -- Sorrento restaurant. Extremely slow service! My starter took almost 50 minutes to arrive, AND got served together with the main - WTH??! Doesnt matter if my visit was during peak hours (Sunday lunch), the timing is unacceptable! -- Pool. too many insects around. Need outdoor repellants What I did like: -- Super friendly staff (though that is expected) -- very comfortable bed and pillows. Slept like a charm :) -- Room amenities, of the highest standard and plenty of supply. -- Horizon club lounge! Complimentary Sundowners with a majestic view of Lutyen's Delhi and India Gate. Worth every penny. -- Online portal to order services and food. Very convenient.
