We stayed in this palace from 20th to 23rd March 2022. We had booked two executive suits for four of us. As we reached one of our suit got upgraded to the Maharani Suite. The massive rooms with high ceiling, old fashioned Burmese teakwood furniture, ventilators which allow the sunlight during the daytime really brought us back to historical days. We spent one day just to explore the resort, trekking to the fern jungle within the resort etc. The food was sumptuous. Our special thanks to Mr Robert at the reception, Mr William in the dinning hall & the head chef, unfortunately his name we can't recollect. The chef used to come to the table to ask for any special choice. Overall a fantastic experience.

We had a Memorable stay at Fern Hill Royal Palace. We had a warm welcome from Mr.Parasuram (General Manager). He was very kind enough to take us for a walk around the Palace and explained us in detail about it's history. We were very delighted to know that Royal Family still uses the Palace for their vacation. Each and every part of the Palace is unquie with it's design and our 6 years old daughter too had a good time. We stayed in Maharani suite which had complete wooden flooring and traditional wardrobes made out of teak. Bathroom was quote big with Jacuzzi. Thanks to William for providing us with good spread of dishes and service.

We had a lovely stay here .The rooms are spacious though a bit rundown ,same goes for the furniture-very grand but in need of maintenance. The property is huge with gardens and woods, wonderful to explore. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is scope for improvement on the food front. It was an enjoyable stay but the hotel has scope to become a lot better with a little improvement .

I thought I had seen my fair share of poor service but I clearly hadn't tried this place. Felt like I overstayed my welcome in the first five minutes. There were wild bison roaming in the front lawn but they were less intimidating than the staff. They police you around telling you where to go and where not to go, act like a teenager being given advice when you ask them any questions, respond terribly to feedback and just wait for you to get fed up and leave. I don't know what prevented them from giving any of the guests the finger because that would make no difference anyway. Talked to some of my friends who had visited this place and everyone seems to have had the same experience. If you like to be abused and feel like paying someone to do so, this is where you should go.

Not recommended. The hotel is like a deserted palace, very poorly maintained, the bathroom fittings were leaking.. food was below average and no breakfast buffet. The towels were dirty and there is no signal or wifi (which they do provide but never connects). Basically at the cost of a 5 star hotel, you get no comforts or facilities. We actually cut down our stay of 3 days in Ooty to 2 just bcoz of the gloomy atmosphere of the hotel was growing on us. Really bad experience.
