  • Decent Hotel in KP for a short stay

    First things First, The location of the hotel is excellent, Meaning that it is not on the main road, so no noise, no Honks whatsoever. The Rooms, however, are bit rundown and beds are too hard and uncomfortable . Stayed there for 3 nights and booking through Goibibo helped us to get the best rate possible.

    I booked this hotel through Booking.com for a 1 night stay, checking in Jan 30th 2020 afternoon, checking out Jan 31 2020 morning. I realized the hotel had charged me twice when I received my bank statement two days later. I called the hotel repeatedly for a refund but no one picked up. I called the Mint Hotels main office but again no response. I wrote to Booking.com and asked them to take it up with the hotel. Today I see that the hotel is still listed on the Booking.com website. I am disgusted. I have told my friends and relatives in Pune about this hotel so hopefully no one gets gypped.

    Do not EVER stay at any Mint Properties. They charge your card multiple times. They will say that the charge has not gone through and force you to pay again. Most times they will make you pay three times. The charges will EVER be refunded. Most forget to check, while others who check and call their properties will be greeted by fools who will claim that they do not know ho wto put the charge without the booking ID. Multiple booking ID are created with multiple charges and you will not receive details of the Booking ID, so you are unable to provide any other than the one, for which they will say that the booking ID has only one charge. The woman who will handle yoru case will start begging you to write a letter of complain so that she can throw out other people (probably for her own promotion to the post), but lacks common sense and asks for credit card details by email. After taking all the details, the refund is still not processed. The owner/founder Chatterjee of this business works from home and has NO assistant. And he is not bothered as there will be no response to emails or calls and messages left for him. But someone said it is not that he is not bothered. It is the MINT strategy. People typically forget to check the cards for the return and the ones who do are fooled by saying that they cannot find any charge, leaving you to start processing legal action. Rooms are filthy - worse than public toilets. Manager shows a dirty filthy room and says it is the best on the property and if you see the other you will not step in. LOL. Appreciate the cleaner's honesty. So in short - at least the cleaner who is probably illiterate has a good sense of cleanliness and honesty.

    Dysfunctional Plumbing, Electrical switches, Room lighting. Torn wooden flooring. Frugal complimentary breakfast( Pav & Chole, that's it ! ). One feels like a beggar. Further no complaint redressal. There are many hotels of the price range in the same area.
  • Go only for the food

    Exterior is gorgeous, rooms in side are in disrepair. Broken patio door and door lock, inadequate room supplies (missing kettle and tea supplies, only one towel for two guests, empty hand soap dispenser), rooms in need of other repairs. Service inadequate. Had to ask for clean towels and make own bed.
