Maya Hotel & Restaurant

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was very big and clean. The location is within walking distance to the Taj Mahal. The front desk staff were so helpful. They stored our bags for part of the day. We had great conversation with Mayan. He was so kind and interesting telling us many stories about India. We highly recommend staying here. It is very quiet for sleeping too as is just off the main road.

I happened to book a suite at reasonable rate and I was pleasantly surprised how beautifully my room was decorated. I loved waking up to the sound of birds... very exotic birds like in the photo. Staffs were friendly. The location was super close to Taj Mahal and all the restaurants. I had a nice stay.

Manager is very very Nice, room perfect and very clean. We recommend this hotel to everyone. Exellent stay for 3 days. Housekeeper boy is very good. There is no noise, it is very quite place, very comfortable stay. And the restaurant is very very very delicious food. No Much spicy.

Very close to taj-mahal, i want to recomend to japanese people specially for first time in india, hotel staff is very nice, helpful specially mr. Mayank is very helpful who always ready to help. Maya restaurant have very nice meal, i suggest to have food only at maya restaurant when you arrive at agra. タージ・マハルが徒歩10分で行ける立地条件がいいホテルです、また観光客慣れしてスタッフも親切です。同じオーナーのレストランも現地の物価では少し高いですが、美味しいのでおすすめです。

I stayed at “Ray of Maya” for four nights in December, 2019, and here are the reasons why I do not recommend “Ray of Maya”. When I made a reservation via Booking.com, the hotel offered complimentary pick-up at the railway station, which I appreciated. Although the hotel told me that I did not need to hire a rickshaw driver, who picked me up at the railway station, for any tours unless it was necessary, the driver asked me where I was going to, how and to hire him whenever he found me at the hotel. In addition, he came to inside of the restaurant run by the same owner just across the street and asked the same thing while I was having meals, which was quite annoying. I had breakfast at the above mentioned restaurant every morning and waiters begged me tips several times every morning even though they did not provide me any services at all. During my stay for four nights, they never cleaned up the room. As there was only one complimentary 500ml bottle of water in the room and drank it up on the first day, I asked one more bottle but they were trying to charge it to me upon check-out without letting me know that when I asked. The room was not equipped with air-conditioning or heating and there was a kind of heater like a hair dryer in the room, which was absolutely helpless. Hot water was not available all the time and sometimes it was not able to flush the toilet. Just a day prior to check-out, the hotel told me that their credit cards reader was out of services and asked me to go to their recommended money changer ( they gave the same explanation to other guests but eventually accepted credit cards when refused to pay in cash ).
