Hotel Ishan Villa

Excellent staying at Hotel, awesome experience, well behaved staff and excellent management, great rooms with awesome amenities, great food with different types of cuisines a must visit hotel recommended to all. Must Try: drums of heaven.

It's the compact beautiful property. Rooms are so neat and clean beautifully made. Stayed at level 2 executive room. Organic Food is the trump card of this property. Restaurant is better than any museum. Collection of old antique coins in artefacts is the plus point of this hotel and the Beauty enhancers. 10 out of 10 and 5 stars to this hotel Ishan Villa.

Stayed for just one night as member of a conducted tour. Facilities are ok. Staff is helpful, but the hotel is located far away from city's main tourist attractions. A word of caution: NEVER, I repeat NEVER hire transport from the hotel as you will most likely be OVERCHARGED. I used my mobile data for internet access, so can't comment on whether or not the hotel had free / paid wifi. Rooms vary in size and decor. So, do see the room before accepting. The hotel has some good antique collection.

I was a member of a group of travellers who stayed over at Ishan Villa/ Hotel Dhingra on 01-04-2018-02-04-2018. Let me begin with talking about the attitude of the hotel management. The hotel staff at reception is rude and arrogant. Some of us in the group for whom there was no accomodation left were pushed over to Hotel Dhingra which is right opposite and in the words of hotel staff Mr Raman "belongs to the same owners". The approach to this hotel is possibly the worst that you might ever find. The roads leading up are "Kuccha" with street dogs piled up at the gates of the hotel. The food provided is really good and tasty. The rooms of the hotel (based on group members) are neat and clean. You can find the photos of the path as well as the hotel rooms in the review.

I visited this place during my recent visit to Amritsar. This place is located far away from city centre, approximately 10-12 kms away from Golden temple. You will never get any cab here to go to city. This place lies in a residential Shastri nagar area. There are many such Villas/Houses turned into makeshift hotels in this area and Ishan villa is just one of those property. Since you won't get any cab here, you may be forced to use cab service provided by hotel which is very costly. The villa has 2 floors with rooms from ground floor to 2nd floor. We were in a group and were allotted rooms on 1st floor. There are various rooms types and all are exorbitantly charged compared to the comfort they offer. The rooms have hard beds offering no comfort or rest while sleeping. The blanket was very dirty. The towels provided were dirty and torn. The bathrooms were not clean. To my surprise, a hotel which charges thousands of rupees as room charges had kept 1 rupee sachet of Clinic plus shampoo in bathroom for customers! They will charge you if you demand extra shampoo. 5 rupee medimix bars were kept in bathrooms. The geysers of some rooms were not working. You will have to ask somebody at reception to switch on your geyser in the morning to get hot water! The TV sets reminded me of 1980s. The TV set of my room was not working. When I asked the room service, the guy had to beat the TV set only to hear some noise from TV but no picture. During my entire stay the hotel staff could not repair the TV set. The intercom in one of the other rooms was not working and the reception answered that it had been the same for last 1 month! There is no view from any room of this hotel. Whenever you will open the windows, all you will see is Garbage. The service is pathetic. The staff is very arrogant and does not respond to your queries. The breakfast menu has no variety and is repeated everyday. You will be served cold and tasteless parathas and served tea/coffee in disposable cups. To my horror one of the staff checked the number of plastic disposable spoons taken for tea! The wifi service is chargeable. If you happen to be in Amritsar or are planning to visit, please skip this hotel and save yourself from trouble.
