Hotel 100 Petals Gangtok 12 mins from MG Marg

I am very strict with reviews and I love coverage in details. Some issues were there but still overall I would give 4.5 out of 5 How much? Rs 2260 per day for 2 persons (inclusive of all taxes). Stayed in Feb 2022. Room Type: Deluxe with balcony and NO breakfast. We booked through an online portal (not MMT or the likes) and it is best if you book by calling to get the best rates. Breakfast option is recommended as there are no nearby eateries. How to reach the property and car charges - When coming from NJP/Bagdogra/Tenzing Norgay all cars come to Amdo Golai, Gangtok (this is basically a crossing) and then go to Deorali Taxi Stand, Gangtok. These two stops are just 100 m apart. Get down at Amdo Golai , Gangtok and reserve a car which will then follow Indira Bypass to reach the property. At Amdo Golai you will get taxis and you can hire as you will be having luggage when going for the first time to the property. Car hire (full reserve) charge from Amdo Golai to the property (100 petals) is Rs 150-200 (max). It takes max 10 mins to reach the hotel. From Amdo Golai or from Deorali Taxi Stand area to this property the share taxi fare is Rs 30-40/head. In hills availability of shared taxis is an issue and beyond active hours it gets difficult. 9am to 6 pm is generally meant as active hours. How to reach MG Marg from this hotel and car charges – Distance from hotel = 4.5 kms. No, you cannot walk unless you are unnecessarily trying to impress others. There are shared taxis available near the hotel and the charges from the hotel to MG Marg is Rs 40 per head (Feb 22) and while coming back the fare may be Rs 40 to 50. But while coming back, beyond 7 pm it is difficult to get shared taxis toward hotel and you may have to hire a full taxi. If you hire a full taxi then one way charges would be around Rs 250 – Rs 300 The property – General view – The property is located far-off from MG Marg in a quiet and beautiful serene place. 4 floors - The ground floor is having a lounge cum reception area and the restaurant. You will also get an open air sitting cum restaurant zone in the hotel campus and it is cute looking in spite of that area not being so large. Decent parking space and a small garden in the campus where you will find flower plants and a small bridge like structure over a small pool. The bridge path will take you to the underground section of the hotel the same (underground section) can also be accessed (this access is not going outside in the garden) from the restaurant using staircases. The first and second floors are having rooms, each floor having 7 rooms and there is a terrace which is having 2 rooms, so total 16 rooms. The hotel campus is having a decent space and it is quiet and not crowded. Since the property is having only 16 rooms so you will not feel the chaos and disturbance. At times you will feel that you people are the only ones staying in the property. Hotel staff are well behaved and helpful. You will have a pleasant feeling while staying. The property owner is well known and a great explorer and a bike rider. A lot of frames and accolades you will be able to see throughout the property. About Karma – Read much about him but he was not there when we went to the property but one thing I did not like and that is he did not respond to my whatsapp messages which he himself asked me to send for any sorts of help. This happened just after advance booking and before reaching Gangtok. Service – The service is a bit slow at times but in general they are okay. Food orders take normal time to prepare. After 9 pm you will not get anyone for anything. The reception and the restaurant direct numbers will not work after 9 pm so if you need anything please take the number of the lady and she would help in case you need any help at late night. The same thing happened in day time also. This happen as the property has less staff but it is not that if they are informed they will not do. If you do not get over phone walk up to the restaurant and inform. We had some problem with the WiFi and it was fixed quickly and let me assure that the WiFi speed is decent. There was another issue with the lamp in the balcony but in this case in our entire stay they could not or did not fix the issue Welcome and check In – When we reached the hotel gate our luggage were helped by the hotel staff and we were also greeted by a pack of dogs. They are not scary but are owned by the hotel and they sniffed at us and luckily they understood that we may be strangers but not harmful. The check in was quick and we were offered the room in 5 mins and they took the identity proof documents. Hotel staff took us to the room helping our baggage this time too. Room Experience and Tip –You can choose any rooms excepting the ones which are not having a balcony. Both the terrace rooms are having balcony. There are 2 rooms in the property which are not having balcony. All the rooms are really big and the bathroom as well at the price they charge. The rooms were clean and the linens were clean as well. Issue - One incident which we did not like. Before booking we read about such incidents from other reviews and this is why it is very important to read multiple reviews from multiple platforms. Due to the beautiful and peaceful setup of the property some local people generally teenagers at times hire the outside restaurant sitting area in the garden and along with that they also hire some rooms. Coincidentally this happened when we visited the property. Although the hotel staff informed us that a late night party is there and there will be music and some commotion but they also asked the revellers to limit the activities till 10 pm. Fortunately the outside loud music and revelry took place till 10 pm and after that it stopped. We also got some relief seeing the hotel to come lively which otherwise sinks in darkness and silence at night. But our feelings got hurt when we observed that around 11:30 suddenly chaos started on the terrace and also on the first floor. We could understand that after they got drunk they went berserk and suddenly the music started loudly and the thumping got louder, they were banging on the floor and shutting the door loudly. We could not close our eyes let alone sleeping peacefully. Unfortunately our level of toleration got challenged when someone ranged the bell outside the door being harmlessly (most likely) eccentric. The hotel management was dead silent as if they have left for a distant city. I got worried and was about to call police but the phone number of the hotel lady came handy and I readily called her up and narrated the incidents. They acted as if we stay in two different planets but on the ground floor. However on reporting the issue they (hotel staff) acted upon the nuisance immediately and all those nonsensical activities came to a halt. The hotel staff felt sorry when we checked out but this should not have happened. Food and Restaurant – The property has got a restaurant on the ground floor, the restaurant can comfortably seat 50 heads. The décor of the restaurant is nice and so is the outside garden restaurant area. Simple yet classic. The service takes moderate time and the taste is okay types. To be honest I did not find the taste of the dishes to be excellent but okay level types. Prices are a bit high when I compare the quantity. Per day per person the pocket pinch will be around Rs 1000 (including breakfast, lunch and dinner)The restaurant is clean and spacious and has a washroom too, it has also got a passage (a staircase) to access the underground floor. The underground has the kitchen and staff room. The kitchen is also clean and very big. Dogs – You will see 4 to 5 dogs to roam inside the campus and they are all owned by the hotel and these dogs also roam in and around the restaurant and the reception area as well. They will sniff at you but not harmful. The hotel staff takes good care of the dogs and the dogs are healthy and clean. In the evening time when we used to come back to the hotel each day the dogs came barking and sniffed at us and then they used to get quiet. This also gives an assurance and alerts the hotel staff in case of any unauthorized entries Check out – We thought that the availability of hotel staff will be an issue while checking out but that did not happen and our final bill was processed in a short time.

One of the nicest experience. Staff is great esp Renuka ji. Food is amazing. Had a wonderful stay. The location is great. Rooms are spacious. If view from the hotel is primary, just close your eyes and go ahead with the booking. 👍

100 petals - a beautiful hotel in a quaint location in Gangtok far from the maddening crowd and still easily accessible to the market area. We were a group of bikers and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The owner Karma is an excellent human being, he was also our guide for the entire trip, and made sure we were taken care of very well. Rooms are very nicely made, with beautiful view from each of the room. The staff were very kind and friendly all the time. The whole hotel had a beautiful positive vibe and it was such a pleasant feeling to stay in such a place. The food served was a simple one, yet very tasty and we enjoyed the local cuisine a lot. We spent two nights in this property and could enjoy a calm and quiet new years eve with Karma. Thank you Karma for giving us this opportunity and am sure coming back to your place again.

We travelled to Sikkim on October 2021. It took me 2 months to write this. Not that I was lazy or ignorant to give feedback. I am not a person who writes reviews. I will just go by giving stars and im done there. But, the experience we had with 100 Petals and the owner Mr.Karma left me amazed. I did not want to write just few positive words and be done. I want to share my experience about their hospitality and it’s worth it. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there. I got to know about 100 Petals thru a friend of mine. The only line my friend mentioned was, “ If you are planning for Sikkim just get in touch with Mr.Karma owner of 100 Petals and you are sorted”. I called up 100 Petals and my beautiful vacation started right from there. No wonder this is the best hotel you can choose in Gangtok and budget friendly too.  Cleanliness: 5/5  Food. : 5/5  Staff. : 5/5  Ambience. : 5/5 Every room here comes with a beautiful mountain view. We had a chance to meet few bikers and amazing people who stayed there. They sit at the lobby and have fun, share their experiences. Its like home away from home. People are very warm hearted. Our entire itinerary was planned by Karma. They helped us getting contacts of Taxi rentals. These Taxi rentals are very reliable and they don’t charge you more than needed. The hotel owner Mr.Karma is very helpful and will guide u throughout your stay. He went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. 100 Petals got very good reputation in Gangtok. If you are stuck anywhere or looking for lead you can relay on them. I have been to many places in India and outside India, been to luxury hotels, but 100 Petals is where had the best hospitality. Choose your stay with 100 Petals and I am sure you will relate to this review. You might even end up making amazing friends.
