The HQ

Booked this hotel for 2 nights. Hotel is situated in Vasco town of Goa on the main road. A lot of amenities nearby. The hotel is designed for comfort. Front desk is responsive and accomodative. Would like to stay here again.

I have stayed here many times previously but this time the hotel appears to look jaded and urgently in need of an upgrade. Check-in was smooth and staff are very helpful. The rooms are clean but are in need of some maintenance. The beds were too soft and in need of replacement. Wifi was very poor and did not mostly work. There a few guests only due to Covid, which is probably the reason for the lack of maintenance. Breakfast had variety but south Indian dishes were not up to the mark. However, the puris and baturas were good.

We stayed at The HQ due to its proximity to the Goa airport. The hotel is within walking distance of the Vasco da Gama railway station and just 5 km away from the airport. I would not recommend it to anyone as general hygiene is pathetic. Even the packaged drinking water was stinking! The in-room dining experience was horrible. The room was okay, the spring mattresses were not. The buffet breakfast looked stale and was expensive for the variety being served so we did not eat at the hotel restaurant. There is the Ujwala Restaurant Udupi Refreshments behind the hotel at walking distance which was the only saving grace. The reception too was too busy to serve and speed up the check-in and check-out process. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Hygiene: Pathetic. The hotel is in shabby condition and the rooms stink. Do not trust the packaged drinking water here. Staff: Average. We had minimal experience of interacting with the staff but of the little we did, most were clueless. The reception staff was too busy to entertain queries and process check-in and check-out. Accessibility: Excellent. For the disabled and senior citizens, there is a ramp at the entrance. There is no accessibility issue inside the hotel or to access the washroom inside the room. There are elevators leading to the rooms, requiring no need for climbing any steps. Approach road: Great since it is right on the main road. It is easy to find the hotel on Google maps. The hotel does not have a parking lot. You can park your vehicle at your own risk in the lane adjacent to the hotel. If you want your driver to get a place at the hotel to stay the night, please check with the hotel directly. I had no such requirement and therefore did not check. Food: Not recommended. The food and water look and smell stale. It would be better to eat out as there are a lot of eateries in the vicinity. Overall experience: Pathetic. I would not recommend this hotel even for a short stay.

The HQ hotel, once the pearl of Vasco da Gama sinks into mediocrity. Some examples of my recent stay: - no internet connection in the rooms (same as three months ago by the way) - stains on my bed sheets - towels once white now grey and dirty - no hair dryer - no additional toilet paper - no laundry bag / service - still waiting for requested additional towels - mold on shower curtains - and so on It time for the HQ for a refit to its old standards.

Horrible experience. The hotel has not even cared to change the linen before handing over the room. There are hair and stains on pillows and bath towels. It makes me feel unsafe to stay here during pandemic. This used to be best hotel in Vasco. We have been staying here for last 7 years and this is worst experience I ever had.
