  • Very good for an off season trip with bachelor's!

This a perfect destination for a budgeted traveller who wants a solicit and a peaceful stay. The swimming pool is absolutely perfect for a pool party. The food service is not that amazing. The best part is the nearby mart where you can bring alcohol and have an in-house party on the pool side with your private bar.

Poonam Village Resort promises a lot, but does not deliver. The rooms are not up to the mark, they're unclean and the place has lots of mosquitoes. The pool is not regularly cleaned and the place constantly seeps water. The behavior of the staff was not up to the mark to add on the misery. You can skip this place should you want a more comfortable place to crash in.

My sincere suggestion please stay away from this place unless you are in real need to stay. Food service is close to hell, better eat out side in near by restaurants like buddies or oasis they serve good food.
  • DO NOT STAY HERE!!

We booked this accommodation after reading the reviews thinking, it can't be that bad, but how wrong we were. The first room we were given had mould everywhere so he gave us the room next door, which was the same, just less mould. Both rooms felt like a prison cell, extremely basic and dirty. An hour later our friends arrived so we asked for a bigger room so all 4 of us could stay together and my god...it got a whole lot WORSE!! The pillows had serious mould inside and looked like they'd never ever been washed, the bathroom was filthy, cold shower (not uncommon in India), toilet flush broke, chair covered in dirt, and all bedding was dirty. We complained about the pillows, towels and bedding being dirty but didn't receive replacements until 1am, which was annoying as fresh stuff was still dirty. The pool had LOTS of spit floating in it and the whole place looked like it was in need of knocking down and rebuilding. The guesthouse is down a dirt road not too far from the main road, but the first night we were followed by 3 men and couldn't get back without getting a taxi which was annoying as we were only round the corner having dinner. We checked out the next morning staying only one night, we couldn't bare it anymore. They wouldn't refund us for the the night we didn't stay so lost out (having paid £36 for 2 nights 2pp through Hotels.com) but we didn't care and would rather sleep on the beach than in Poonam. The pictures I took don't reflect just how bad this place is. Any good reviews for this place have definitely been falsified by the owners and all pics are from when the place first opened I'm guessing. We luckily found Manali Guesthouse just up the road and round the corner for 500rps per night. It was super clean with a hot shower! If you're going to stay anywhere I'd recommend Manali. We only stayed in Anjuna 2 nights then moved onto Arambol. If we had a better experience we possibly would have stayed longer. We'll also be filing a complaint with Hotels.com so no one else has to endure such a bad experience and being ripped off by these people.

The rooms were large but not maintained at all ..with an age old bathroom..the room also had a sort of extra space to sit and have tea of something, but that space was not clean at all .. the food was also bad ..the property is not maintained at all ..one of my worst stays so far !!
