Had been to this Hotel on 19th February 2020 with my family. Hotel is good and close to many tourist attractions. Gateway of India is just a few minutes walk and so are Colaba Causeway, Cafe Mondegar, Leopold Cafe and many others. Staffs are polite, gentle. Mr Prasanta Das is a nice friendly person and so is Madam Kavita. Breakfast Spread is good. I had a little disappointment about the Washroom and it requires renovations. However, overall a good experience and I will definely come back to this property on my next visit and will also recommend my friends and colleagues to experience this hotel on their visit.

The Hotel Diplomat is situated directly behind the Taj Mahal Palace making it a excellent choice for those looking for something that is fairly priced allowing you to experience Mumbai's attractions within walking distance e.g. Gateway of India, Floral Fountain, Book Street, Victoria Terminus, Crawford Market and many more. The staff takes the time to go out of their way to ensure you are taken care of and that your needs are met. They ensure that the rooms are upkept, you are provided with instruction on how to find the local attraction and that the breakfast you are provided is varried daily. They make sure that you feel welcomed each time you encounter them and that if you have a question they answer it to the fullest extent or find someone that can. Stayed at the Diplomat hotel for 6 nights and was very impressed. Friendly and accommodating staff Clean hotel and neat hotel Rooms are excellent and very comfortable, most of which are being updated. Clean bathrooms Good and hearty breakfast. Hotel is extremely central to all anmeties and sites. Step out of the hotel and you're on the path to shopping and food. A wonderful 6 night stay in Mumbai. Will definitely be staying at the Diplomat if ever visiting Mumbai again.

Had a great time staying here; it was the first hotel I stayed in Mumbai. Pro: - The localities of this Hotel are great; Art distric, gateway of India are close by - some shopping can be done in the area - Staff is really nice and know a lot about the area and the security staff will keep you safe (even if you need to either cross the street to haul a cab/uber, get a simcard from a local vendor especially at night) - Room is clean, has good aircon, so far I haven't encountered any Mosquitos - but I also never opened the Window and their Internet works fine (not amazing, but good) Con - the breakfast is nice, but a little confusing if you are a tourist and you do not know what is on display; for the price of the hotel, it's sloppy and without thought; but ask the friendly staff for recommendations - since there is no menu to display what they can actually do (go for the spicy omelet, if you like spices) - elevators are tiny; if you are more than two people (max 4 if you squeeze)

Papaya Restaurant inside Hotel Diplomat at Colaba Mumbai which we had gone to yesterday is a good ambience place. But their service and food mediocre and not worth a visit. The staff unhelpful and no regards to pleasing the customer. They have other outlets in Mumbai but this one not worth going to.
