Woodays Resort

Had gone with my family in January 2022,booked 2cottages. It’s An unbelievable property with magnificent view. You have to be there to believe it. Just breathtaking. The view from our cottages was just WOW surrounded by trees and valley. Very spacious rooms with an electric blanket to warm your feet. The snow capped cottages looked unbelievable. All wooden flooring. The food was excellent and so was the service. You would feel like you’re in New Zealand. Very courteous and friendly staff. Shall surely visit again.

We fell in love at first sight with the beautiful Swiss style cottages. And since it had snowed heavily the week before there was a beautiful white blanket all over ! We were two families and we took a deluxe room and a family suite. The rooms are well maintained and the heater and electric mattress were very effective in keeping room cozy despite -6 degrees outside. The rooms and the bathroom may seem small at first but I believe given the cold weather they have kept it small so that it can get heated faster. The view from the room is amazing. We were lucky to have clear weather and the snow capped mountains were easily visible from the room. Don’t miss the sunrise from the property. The property is 4-5 minute drive from highway and they provide their vehicle to get you from highway till the property in case there is snow on the way. The lights in evening made it a pretty sight with snow all around. The service was also good. Can’t complain. The food however needs lot of improvement. Regular items like North Indian paneer and dal were still okay but tandoori chap and soups we tried were really not good. And this is when they are charging pretty high like a fine dining restaurant. We didn’t eat our bfast and lunch at the hotel after first not so good experience. Overall our experience was great. Major contribution was the heavy and fresh snow we found and the clear weather. Also don’t miss the kufri adventure resort. We had a nice ski experience there and children enjoyed the indoor games.

Woodays has a super view for its residents. During a snow it is a magnificent sight. However, the cottage rooms are small. There is no closet space. Also, they need get the approach road to the main road paved. We got stuck during a heavy snowfall and there was no way to get out The cottages should be redesigned to make them at lease 30% larger Food and service is decent though not excellent

At the time of booking they mentioned the resort is located in the lap of Himalayas but it’s no where mentioned ,you have to travel 750 mt down the hill on a road which is muddy , no barricades and very little space to take turns . Tempo traveler can not reach there and they can can also deny you pick up from road . Rooms are really built in Scandinavia style but only from outside they are average size with no proper curtains so you will have a problem of privacy and no adequate cover from blazing sun specially in morning hours . No room service before 7.30 am No food service after 9 pm , only if you insist If there is stray staring at your food , then waiter will reply it’s not his problem . No fresh fruits at a place like Shimla No pool facility No kids room or play room Quality of food is average Resort as such is nested in a green Himachal valley , tranquil and peaceful , it’s an average place to unwind Once room service facility starts then they are quick but with limited options It’s a place who wants to stay away from hustle of city

We booked this resort from 03.02.22 to 06.02.22 There was no follow up call from resort and when we called they kept saying cars 4*4 are coming whereas it clearly was closed as per HT news. No refund was offered as we were unable to make it due to closure of road we asked for part refund or another date for our stay which was bluntly denied by resort. In fact we were asked to put up review and told in exact words online platform are open for reviews. Worst ever experience. On contrary we were referred a cab which was charging 8000 for gypsy from Shimla to kufri. No rules apply to them. They consider themselves above law.
