In my experience any resort is only as good as it's General Manager.
The GM at the Amritara Aura Spa Retreat is really very good at what he does.
Shyam Sharmas' clearly talented and calm management style results in a wonderfully relaxed, well organised, laid back resort with happy, helpful, efficient staff.
Well set back from a small road in Mandrem the resort is quiet and verdant with banana, cashew and mango trees, and brightly coloured dragonflies flashing in the sun above the refreshing swimming pool.
Inclusive breakfasts are very good and the extensive menu was fun to explore.
Our rooms were a generous size with high ceilings, good strong showers, comfortable beds and efficient AC.
As you can tell .. we liked this place enormously, and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a relaxing break 10 minutes drive from the beach in beautiful Goa.
We were impressed by all the very likeable staff helping Mr Sharma make this resort such a success but Deepesh, Bhumika, Diago and the charming, conscientious
Gayatri deserve a special mention.
Thank you all

Amritara is a blessing in disguise

We were 3 families travelling and the trip was a long awaited one. We were travelling with kids, so we wanted spacious rooms with compete security and room service. In the start we were given options line meredian, holiday inn express and W , but that to you tube, there rooms were like matchboxes for the price at which Amritara literally gave us a mansion to live in. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and the retro color scheme added to the comfort. The bathrooms, shower area and walkin - wardrobe was also a reason, which added to the comfort.
The property is located in Mandrem , between the trees and just 5 min drive from Morjim, Ashwem and Arambo beach which are the cleanest one i found in Goa without any nagging and disturbance. The restaurants like Anahata, Black pepper, and more are open to satisfy your midnight hunger which is obvious in GOA,
Amritara has lots of fruit trees like mango, cashew and Jamun (which is just outside the reception area) .. The mango and cashew are spread all across the property. The Library can be improved by adding standing fans as it gets humid there. Some board games can be included *and the chess was missing a bishop*. The staff service was found to be slow as were told that 6 staffs took leave without notice. Still it was manageable and we were looked after by Aishwarya, Bhumika & Sunil from the kitchen. I'm sure things will improve or must have been done by now. The breakfast menu can also be looked upon and new dishes can be added specially croissants.
I would advise the property to hold a high-tea in the evenings so that the guests can mingle and know each other. This will surely add on the experience of the stay. Valanka at the front desk was told for the same and she said she'll put in with the management. Trust she's done that by now
Mr Shyam, who was the property manager is a very interesting and jolly person to be with. Every Morning we would find him at the restaurants and he was collecting feedbacks and update about the stay. This felt comforting and eventually after a week long stay, we ended up building a lifelong friendship with him.
I'm surely suggesting the property to everyone and needless to stay that it will be my only destination whenever i'll go to GOA again

We loved our stay at Amritara aura. Mr Shyam Sharma was a friendly talk each time we met him. The entire staff at the restaurant was very helpful, and cooked home like food for us, just as the way we asked them to! Don’t forget to try their phulka roti and sabji as per your choice!
Overall spacious and aesthetically designed rooms and comfortable stay, in a serene green property in Goa! 👍🏻

Decent property, but can certainly be better

Good, but can definitely be better.
This was our first time staying in the extreme end of North Goa, towards the Ashwem-Morjim belt. We decided to be here to avoid the too crowded side of Goa and chose Amritara for out two nights stay. This boutique property has nice cottages, and is amidst a canopy of trees so will offer perfect serene vibes.
It has an open air library, a yogashala and a pool as amenities. The room size is decent with enough space to move about and a beautiful sit out area.
From a location point of view, Aswem, Morjim and Mandrem beaches are nearby (you’d need a vehicle though).
In terms of food taste and buffet spread, they certainly need to up their game. Given the four star charges, and the experience in similar properties around Goa, this was quite a disappointment.
The manager however was gracious to take the feedback positively.
If you are going with kids who constantly need to be engaged/ have places to keep themselves busy, this might not be the best choice. If you are going for the instagram and are happy to be indoors mostly, it aint a bad choice.
Hope this helps.
