A quiet hotel within walking distance of SV Road

We stayed at the Karl Residence for one Night only. The rooms were spacious and clean, as were the Toilet and Bathroom. Hotel pricing was good and the service provided by the front desk and other staff was excellent. Following check-out we left our bags in the small lobby to walk the surrounding area as we had some time on our hands. Interestingly, the Hotel is very centrally located, with SV road and its multitude of shops being only a short walk away. Yet it is located in a quiet area and there was no disturbance at night whatsoever. Our room Wifi was rather slow but it appears that each room has a separate router. My friends did not face the same issue in their room and therefore this aspect has not negatively impacted on my review rating.

Karl Residency is ideally located very close to shopping areas. The hotel seems to have seen better days but the rooms and bathrooms are surprisingly spacious by Mumbai's standards. Rent also does not seem too high. Breakfast is not free and it is best avoided since it is nothing great. While we were there there was some renovation activity happening on our floor and it was impossible to stay in the room from 10am to 6pm. Hotel service was very efficient and prompt.

Our stay was horrible. The restaurant is noisy, smoke inside non-smoking room and we complained about the food to Mr Shaikh (FNB Manager) and his argument was that they are busy with supplying food and liquor to the banquet hall so a bread takes 10 mins after they look at you to even take an order. A handful of people who do corporate booking create noise even in restaurant and the manager doesn’t even want to move to take an order. WORST HOTEL AND RESTAURANT.

Stayed overnight at Hotel Karl Residency with my wife. This place is undoubtedly the most disgusting and filthiest hotel one can come across. Even lodges on highway are far more cleaner. The room stinks, the ,floor is sticky (as it has not been n a good scrub), the furniture in the room has peeled off, the mirror in the room is stained and the hotel authorities have the audacity to term this as 'Delux' room. The staff is a notch above in being absolutely rude to their customers. Right from their manager at the reception to the lousy waiters who attend to room requests. When you order food at the room and sign on the bill with a request to add it to the final bill, the waiter will insist you pay immediate and in cash. I had placed a request for a bottle of cold water at 11 pm. They delivered the same to our room at 1230 am. Apparently this place is owned by a Parsee. Parsee's are known for their cleanliness and hygiene. This is the first I have ever come across which is the filthiest. DO NOT visit. There are much cleaner and better accomodations in Andheri and Juhu which one can visit at rates considerably lesser than what Karl Residency charges.
