Very well maintained and managed by FAB HOTELS. Good for over-night transit visits to and off the capital city. Clean rooms with well mannered staff. Breakfast was served in room. Centrally located near the airport.

We had booked 2 deluxe rooms and 1 family room for an overnight visit to Chennai to attend a function Rooms were clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was very effective. Cannot comment on breakfast provided as we didn't have it there, but overall good place and courteous friendly staff
  • Good for only one night...not fit for long term stay

Stayed here on three occasions - first on arrival from SFO (Jan 8th to Jan 12th 2020), second after visit to Kashi and Indore (Jan 24th to Jan 27th 2020) and then finally before departure back to SFO, California (from Feb 7th to Feb 13th) - totally stayed for 14 nights. Would summarize good and bad as follows Good side: Close to Madras Airport, newer building, near to market place in Nanganalur, safe for a single person stay and close to restaurants and newer temples. Generally the building is clean and rooms are kept clean only for one night stay. Helped us by keeping our baggage in the hotel during our travel in India...which is a great help. Allowed us to checkout late on Feb 13th after a payment of Rs 1000 as additional fees (our flight from Madras was at 11 pm so we left at 7.30 pm)....That is about it Bad Side: Poor customer service. 1)The floor managers do not check the work done by service staff..instead ask us to check if rooms are clean enough. In fact the owner stays there during the day...still no sanity check or cross check with customers 2) The cleaning staff do not clean the toilet bowls or wash basins every day. We need to tell them to clean the room and the toilets. Sometimes they do...many a times they do NOT clean 3) They do not give breakfast before 9 am....being from US, we are used to early rise and start...so we invariably go to a nearby restaurant and have veggie breakfast (in fact, the hotel gets the food supplied by the same caterer) 4) They do not give coffee maker or kettle in the room...so have to go out even for a coffee. As we start early, we go out and have coffee after 5.30 am in the near by coffee shops 5) They do not change the sheets everyday during long term stay (don't know if they do after a guest checks out). Because of our long haul, we asked them to change....still the sheets and pillows are NOT clean enough by our standards 6) Very often between 10 am and 1 pm, there is no power and the hotel runs on generator...so only fan works during this time and A/c does not. 7) They do not offer laundry facilities (For us on our request the service boys helped us wash our inner garments on payment of additional fees. If they provide a washer for customer use, it would be of great help). 8) The hotel offers WIFI..but very bad connections.....and disrupts very frequently 9) The mattress is a spring mattress with no or very minimal cushion....it caves in when you lie down or sit....this could affect your sleep or result in back pain...10) Over all..good for one night stand....not fit for long term or extended stay
  • Nightmare experience at FabHotel

I had made the 25% of total amount as advance to secure my booking and the hotel guy at the reception asked me to pay the entire amount. He was not even ready to look at the payment proof I provided. When I tried calling customer care number 7042424242, they were not reachable. I cancelled my booking and did not check into the hotel as I did not want to lose the remaining 75% of the money. I'm yet to get refunded for their blunder. Until now, no one from the hotel has bothered to call me and apologise nor they refunded my money. So, beware! I have travelled the entire world but this is the worst nightmare experience I have ever had.

This hotel is the absolute pits. Total shambles. We arrived around 10.30pm and couldn’t wait to get checked in after a long day of travel. Upon check in we were told they didn’t have our booking and they were full and we needed to phone fabhotels head offices (I think, I still don’t know who I spoke to on the phone). They agreed the hotel was full and they didn’t have confirmation of my booking. We continued to show and try explain to the reception team our booking confirmation email and how we had paid online. Still nothing. No apology and certainly no offer to sort anything out. It was around midnight and we ended up getting relocated to a different hotel after I had been on the phone to my bookings agent, absolutely amazing place who couldn’t do anything more for us upon our arrival there. (Trident, Chennai). I asked the reception team to call us a taxi so we could move on ‘use Uber’ he replied. So after reconnecting to their internet (it kept going off) we managed to get a ride. Before getting a confirmation, they had yet another power cut meaning we couldn’t get our Uber. I then asked reception to get us one. Eventually he agreed and one arrived around 1am. Points for the hotel, train your staff better and put the customer first. A ‘can do’ attitude and a little helpfulness wouldn’t go amiss. Avoid this hotel like the plague. Monkeys could run it better.
