It is also the longest beach in the country, stretching a whopping 13 km. A wide array of activities can be enjoyed at the beach. Beach lovers can book a hotel near Marina Beach to visit the area whenever they want. Fort Saint George – Constructed in 1653 by the British, Fort Saint George serves as the home of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The on-site museum exhibits an impressive collection of paintings, relics and other artefacts. Santhome Cathedral Basilica – Santhome Cathedral Basilica is one of the only three basilicas built over the tomb of an apostle. It was built back in 1523 by the Portuguese and showcases the neo-gothic style of architecture. T. Nagar – T. Nagar or Thyagaraya Nagar is the premier shopping hub in Chennai, replete with stores and street vendors offering everything from jewellery and clothes to delectable food. Velachery Main Road Near Gurunanak College, Velachery, Chennai 600042
This hotel is hidden away in the Phoenix Market City mall in Chennai and is within a short distance from the airport. The layout of the hotel is fantastic with wavy mirrored walls and seamless door designs. The rooms are ultra-large, at least the one I stayed in was. The room has a distinct 60s or 70s feel to it and the design was almost like the ones you see in luxury Swiss brochures. The room is dominated by a large bed. The bathroom is almost like another room and has a vast area for the sink and a comfortably large area for the water closet. I was impressed by the mini restaurant on premise which served a delicious complimentary breakfast. All in all, a great stay and I can definitely recommend this hotel.
