Mayfair Hideaway Spa Resort
333/1 Rangali, Betul, Goa 403723
I have just spent a week at this lovely hotel with my 3 grown up daughters . Located where the Betul river joins the Arabian Sea this charming small hotel is in a quite magical setting . The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool which directly overlooks a landscape that changes hourly : sand flats that come and go in the tides , boats passing and astonishing bird life . On our last day we saw 30 red -backed kites swooping all day around the palm trees near the hotel . The staff were efficient and helpful , our well appointed upper level bedrooms overlooked the river estuary . The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet , sadly mangoes were not in yet season in March. The chef was very present and very open to daily discussions about what he would be making for dinner on those evenings when the full dinner buffet was not available ( we were staying at low season ). Highlights were the vegetable pakoras we ate for lunch every day and prawn curry made with the sweetest tiny fresh water prawns . This hotel offered exceptional value for money . I would have happily not left the hotel at all during the week but as my children were beach lovers we took the hotel free shuttle a couple of times to Cavillisom beach , and for yoga classes inexpensive taxis to Agonda beach which was nicer than Cavelossim. ( check out the Cuba Beach Bar ) Full marks to Rajendra the manager and all his staff for firstly the very efficient airport pick up on our arrival from the UK and the excellent service during our stay . We will now make this trip to the Mayfair Hideaway an annual one . Do not be put off this is not a direct beach hotel.
