Beach lovers can book a hotel near Marina Beach to visit the area whenever they want. Fort Saint George – Constructed in 1653 by the British, Fort Saint George serves as the home of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The hotel is opposite to Tambaram west railway station at walkable distance. Just cross the main road and enter the passport office road and it is at entry itself. We booked a 3 bedded room online and was given the proper room with a queen bed and a single bed and also airconditioned. The toilet has a geyser and hence hotwater is there 24hrs. Room is small but the linen and beds were tidy and decorated. The restaurant is closed but they served the complimentary breakfast there, probably bought from outside. They provide Tea in room from the wending machine and available anytime. The Wifi is very good and hotel has a lift. They have room service for Dinner and Lunch. If not complimentary, they are not providing breakfast and that is the main drawback. The best part is, flexible 24 hour checkin - checkout timing. Overall we liked the stay here

Stayed there for 3 nights. Location is in Tambaram east, under the Tambaram flyover, near Fatima church. Quiet location, in a small street. Staff at the reception are cordial and polite. There is parking available for only one four wheeler. First come first served. That too the slope to park is very rickety. Parking on the street, you may be asked to move the vehicle if one comes. The room was small, ok for 2 but crowd for 3. One kind bed. We asked for bed sheets and they gave it. Bathroom is small, the place to hang clothes is above the commode, making it difficult to reach the stand. Very little space to keep toiletries. Hot water available 24 hours. A cupboard and a shelf to keep luggage. They provide breakfast in the room - idly, vada, puri. There is no restaurant. Even for coffee one has to got to a nearby tea shop. if you ask the hotel folks to get, then it is Rs. 45 for a small cup of nescafe. No restaurants nearby - nearest is a Saravana Bhavan and Ganga sweets at the Tambaram station - 10 mins walk. Madras christian college is 10 mins walk. Other than a tea shop, bakery and a medicine shop, could not find any shops nearby. There is no laundry service. We called up a laundry shop and asked them to pick up and deliver our clothes, They never turned up. Finally, we did some washing in the room bathroom and dried them in the terrace of the hotel - a spacious terrace with strings for hanging clothes (the service boys, have a couple of rooms in the terrace and have place for hanging clothes.) on the whole, an ok stay.
