From June to October is when the city experiences heavy downpour, resulting in waterlogging and traffic jams in some areas of the city. Any other month of the year is brilliant for Mumbai Darshan. Hotel Elphinstone Annex
149, P. D'Mello Road, Sai Niwas, opp Carnac Bunder Bridge, next to yellow gate police station
The hotel has an advantageous location, well maintained rooms and a very cordial staff. We, a group of eight, stayed there for a night in three suite rooms which were neat and well furnished. We left our luggage with the hotel after checking out of it in the morning and went to visit Elephanta Cave with the intention to come back in the afternoon and catch the train to Aurangabad from the adjacent CST. But getting delayed at Elephanta we missed our train. The hotel not only allowed us to wait at the reception but extended all cooperation until we could arrange a suitable cab to go to Aurangabad which was as late as 11pm. Mr. Hemond, the courteous manager, even pleasantly surprised us by waiving the charges of tea which we had ordered during our wait for 5 hours. Overall, it was a memorable stay there at the Hotel Elphinstone, Mumbai.

New Vasantashram
232 Narsinh Mansion, 3rd floor, Lokmanya Tilak marg400002, India
As a solo woman traveller, artist, and activist for women's rights, I've had many uncomfortable experiences while on the road. Travelling alone can be daunting, especially when in an unfamiliar place. New Vasantashram is a gem in the heart of South Mumbai. Affordable and safe, I felt a genuine sense of care from the guest house's management and staff. I had come to Mumbai to paint a mural with a Koli women. The hotel's owner and staff, who are great art lovers, as you will see from the incredible collection of classical artwork from around the country that adorns the walls of the guesthouse, were incredibly supportive of my work. I am left with nothing but gratitude in my heart and look forward to staying at New Vasantashram every time I visit Mumbai. X
Hotel Royal Castle
76, August Kranti Marg, Near Gowalia Tank Dairy Farm, Kemps Corner
Had a wonderful stay at hotel royal castle. I’d come to Bombay for work, stayed here for over a week and it was one of the most comfortable stays I’ve had. The commute to all places is extremely easy, specially with the station being a 5 min walk. In the heart of south Bombay, the hotel offers great breakfast and prompt service for anything required. Truly would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great time in Bombay!
